Twin Design + Art Direction is a multidisciplinary design studio in Hamilton, Ontario driven by Danielle Hitchcock.

With over 17 years in the design industry, she has experience in branding, signage, wayfinding, editorial design, invitation and stationery design, book design, visual identity, web design and copywriting.

Beyond traditional design realms, she has participated in, facilitated and led workshops in strategy, foresight and innovation for Western University and the United Way. In the signage and wayfinding field, she creates comprehensive signage analysis, site audits, elevations, sign location plans and message schedules.

Danielle holds a Bachelor of Design from York University and Sheridan College.

She is also a proud graduate of the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program at Yoga Space in Toronto. She furthered her movement training at Goodbodyfeel in Hamilton which informs her practice in pilates, yoga, movement and life. No, she can't do a handstand. Yes, she can stand on her head.

Life-long learning
Danielle is committed to creating a world where equity, diversity and inclusion are champions. This includes anti-racism work, which she is committed to not only as a business, but as a mother and a person. It is our job to dismantle systemic racism and any and all systems that hold people down. To do this, she is committed to the life-long learning (and unlearning) of racism and how her implicit biases uphold this system. She learns through listening to BI&PoC voices, diversifying her book shelves, investing in courses and reading books by anti-racism activists.

Twin Design believes in amplifying BI&PoC voices; LGBTQ2SIA+ voices and acknowledges that all this work must be intersectional. It is our job to create a better future for our children and future generations. Dismantling racism starts in our homes, in our families, in conversations with our friends. Let’s start having those conversations and work toward creating a better world.

As a small business, Twin Design is committed to donating to local organizations, as well as those abroad, that benefit BI&PoC communities and are actively engaged in dismantling systemic racism. We donate on a monthly basis to the Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion. Some other organizations we have supported and continue to support are: the Indian Residential School Survivors Society, the Save the Evidence Campaign at the Woodland Cultural Centre, Food 4 Kids Hamilton and our local Neighbour to Neighbour.

When she's not creating beautiful work for her clients, Danielle can be found parenting her twins and doing yoga/pilates/meditation (to calm down from said twins). She hopes to resume her love of travel before the kids are 20. She's been to 18 countries across 3.5 continents and would love to add to that tally.
